Welcome Message

Welcome to the homepage of Greater Hong Kong!

Greater Hong Kong is a youth-run think tank dedicated to the development of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macau Greater Bay Area. It was founded in 2021 with one mission: explore the abundant opportunities in the region, and promote them to young people around the world.

As Founder and a Chinese citizen, I fully believe that the GBA will soon be transformed into a world-class megalopolis – lively, green, and prosperous! Yet, despite all the high-level planning and engagement initiatives, communication gaps remain a huge challenge to youth mobilisation, compounded by other structural barriers. The message of optimism, hope and opportunity seems not to have trickled down well, both locally and internationally.

That is exactly why we exist. Through researching and sharing industry insights, we strive to tell a good story about GBA and help attract global talent to it, while making policy suggestions where appropriate. As our name signals, we have a Hong Kong focus – a city which my friends and I proudly call home, a ‘super-connector’ between East and West.

Here at GHK, we approach things with an open mind, recognising our limits as youth. We are not ideologically bound, for one size never fits all.

I hope this short introduction gives you an idea of who we are and what we do. Happy Browsing!

Our Work

Gather and analyse information about the GBA, and offer evidence-based industry insights.

Policy Research

We recruit student researchers from universities around the world, and regularly publish industry insights on our website and social media platforms, digesting current trends, emerging sectors, and the latest government initiatives in the GBA. Our research adheres to the seven development areas delineated by the central authorities in the Outline Development Plan in 2019.

Youth Engagement

We are currently working to build a Greater Bay Student Alliance with different China-focused university societies across continents. Every now and then, we will co-host exclusive networking events and webinars with distinguished guests. Stay tuned!
